Technical Sales Representative

Lotus Group is proud to partner with our valued client in the Energy industry as they are searching for a Technical Sales Representative to join their Edmonton based team. With their Head Office in Red Deer, Alberta, our client is a leading provider of valve distribution, automation, electrical, instrumentation, maintenance, and service. As the exclusive distributor of Dyna-Flo products in key markets, they deliver innovative flow control solutions and technical expertise to customers in the energy, industrial, municipal, utility, and infrastructure sectors.
The successful candidate will drive growth throughout Alberta by developing new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, while promoting the full suite of their products and services.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and grow the Alberta territory through new business development and account management.
- Promote and sell valve, automation, electrical, instrumentation, maintenance, and manufacturing solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities through networking, cold calling, Lunch & Learns, trade shows, and industry events.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and presentations while following up on opportunities and customer inquiries.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts, market intelligence, and sales updates to leadership.
- Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings and communicate upcoming projects, opportunities, and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, expense reports, and customer activity within company systems.
Role Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of outside sales, business development, or account management experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, maintenance services, industrial valves, automation, or related industrial products and services.
- Proven ability to develop new business, build relationships, and achieve sales targets.
- Strong territory management, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cold calling, networking, trade shows, and relationship-based selling.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, Electrical, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driver's abstract required.
- Current First Aid, H2S, TDG, and Defensive Driving certifications are considered assets.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
Compensation
A comprehensive compensation plan starting at 100K base salary will accompany the successful candidate including a comprehensive benefit plan. Salary range is based on experience and qualifications
