Job Description:
Data Center/Mission Critical Electrician
We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Electricians to join our team for the construction of state-of-the-art data center/mission critical projects. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in electrical systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting within large-scale industrial or commercial projects. This role involves working with high-voltage equipment, wiring, and ensuring all electrical systems meet stringent standards and codes. Pay is based on experience and per diem is available on some roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components for the data center, including wiring, conduit, breakers, panels, and switches.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
- Perform routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, implementing effective solutions.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Document work performed, including updates to blueprints and schematics as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Assist with the coordination of electrical work with other trades and contractors on site.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
- Valid electricians license or certification.
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial construction, preferably with data center projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with electrical tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with high-voltage systems and data center-specific electrical installations.
- Certification in specialized areas such as high-voltage work, fiber optic installation, or data center electrical systems.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable electrical practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
