Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Designer II / Project Manager to join a dynamic team. This essential role involves working across all project phases, from conceptual design to construction administration. You will be responsible for creating innovative concept packages and high-quality project documentation, guiding the design process to completion, and mentoring junior designers.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, engineers, fabricators, product reps, furniture dealers, and regulatory agencies to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop design concepts, select interior finishes and furniture, and communicate designs using 2D imagery and 3D renderings.
  • Coordinate detailed documentation with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.).
  • Ensure design intent is accurately reflected in construction documentation.
  • Resolve complex technical and design issues to produce innovative, constructible solutions.
  • Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control.
  • Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by contractors.
  • Contribute to the financial performance of projects.
  • Review and assist in proposals and contracts.
  • Establish and maintain productive client relationships.
  • Engage in business development and marketing efforts.
  • Participate in company activities, initiatives, and learning curriculums.
  • Support goals of altruism, wellness, and sustainability.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Develop and deliver internal presentations.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Skilled in SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong rendering and visual communication skills.
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Ability to focus on multiple projects in various development stages.
  • Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, client service, and relationship management skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 4+ years of commercial interior design experience.
  • NCIDQ, CID, LEED AP, WELL AP certifications are highly valued.
