About the job Procurement Manager - Logistics & Trading
Our long-standing Tier 1 client is a well-established trading and commercial organisation seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to strengthen its procurement and strategic sourcing function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiations, cost optimisation, and procurement governance. The role will work closely with Sales, Fulfilment and other business teams to ensure competitive pricing, reliable suppliers and effective delivery of customer and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing and procurement plans.
- Identify, evaluate and develop strong local and international suppliers.
- Build and maintain relationships with key strategic vendors.
- Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, commercial terms, framework agreements and Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
- Monitor supplier performance including delivery, quality, cost and responsiveness.
- Drive cost-saving, cost-optimisation and value-engineering initiatives.
- Identify procurement and supply risks and develop alternative and dual-sourcing solutions.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, governance and audit requirements.
- Support Sales and Fulfilment teams with supplier sourcing, pricing intelligence and commercial input for bids and projects.
- Support sourcing of project-specific and long-lead materials.
- Continuously improve procurement processes, supplier performance and departmental efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years of procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain experience.
- Strong experience in supplier sourcing, vendor management and commercial negotiations.
- Experience negotiating pricing, contracts, framework agreements and LTAs.
- Strong understanding of cost optimisation and supplier performance management.
- Strong commercial and sales mindset.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience within industrial trading, engineering, Oil & Gas, infrastructure, manufacturing or project supply environments is highly advantageous.
- CIPS, CPSM or equivalent certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
