Our client is a leading Tier 1 Global Transport & Logistics specialist. Seeking a skilled Senior Business Development Manager- Road Transport to drive revenue growth, build strong client relationships, and lead strategic initiatives. This role involves market analysis, sales leadership, and stakeholder collaboration to secure profitable opportunities while managing and motivating a high-performing team based in Riyadh, KSA.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with business goals, financial objectives, and group policies.
- Oversee the short-term results (1 year or less) while aligning with the organization's long-term vision.
- Draft business development plans, including account management strategies and account plans for the assigned geographic region.
- Plan and execute new business development initiatives to maximize market exposure among targeted prospects.
- Identify, pursue, and acquire profitable business relationships with key customers.
- Lead the sales team to establish and strengthen relationships with targeted prospects.
- Monitor revenue, profit, expense objectives, and customer growth/retention rates.
- Support negotiations to secure critical sales and assist in developing sales proposals.
- Manage experienced professionals with significant autonomy and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Deliver market studies and feasibility assessments to identify market potential.
- Prospect new opportunities through market research and develop innovative marketing initiatives.
- Foster strong relationships with internal business leaders and external stakeholders, including government authorities and service providers.
- Advise customers and stakeholders on relevant processes, systems, and tools.
- Supervise and motivate team members, assigning tasks, managing performance, and providing developmental support.
- Recruit, develop, and coach team members to ensure professional growth and alignment with organizational goals.
- Regularly enhance business development methods and resolve complex, undefined challenges.
- Stay abreast of key market trends and adapt strategies to maintain competitiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to address moderately complex challenges with innovative solutions.
- Proven capability to influence external stakeholders and skeptical clients to secure business opportunities.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Over 6 years of experience in business development, sales, or related fields, preferably in logistics or a similar industry.
- Expertise in New Business Development, Account Management, Selling, and Cross-Selling.
- Strong skills in Negotiation, Stakeholder Management, CRM, and Marketing.
- Experience in Revenue Growth, Sales Forecasting, Project Management, and Change Management.
- Proficient in Salesforce and other sales tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Leadership qualities, including team motivation and performance management.
