Our client is a leading global Tier 1 aviation services organization. They seek a dynamic, seasoned, experienced General Manager, responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing strategic initiatives and day to day operations to enhance overall country operations. This role ensures operational efficiency, drives business growth, and identifies key capabilities needed to maintain consistency and effectiveness across services and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the highest operational standards for all services within the country, aligning with airline requirements and establishing SLAs.
  • Supervise assigned personnel while managing administrative and financial responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Performance Indicators (SPI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) according to QHSE standards.
  • Implement and maintain necessary manuals and standard operating procedures, integrating client airline protocols.
  • Oversee compliance initiatives to minimize incidents and accidents.
  • Take responsibility for QHSE and security policies, ensuring the effective execution of a comprehensive quality, safety, security, and environmental management system.
  • Manage aviation fuel operations at the airport, maintaining safety, reliability, and operational integrity in collaboration with the fuel team and key stakeholders.
  • Support process standardization to optimize station and country-wide performance in accordance with schedules.
  • Ensure adequate resource allocation and oversee timely completion of employee training programs.
  • Drive profitability by aligning company activities with predetermined financial goals.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets while forecasting costs and ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Pursue organic business growth and identify new commercial aviation opportunities that align with the station's/country’s expansion strategy.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify and advance relevant business prospects.
  • Track and analyze financial performance, ensuring proper maintenance of budget, P&L, and transaction records.
  • Evaluate commercial activities, sales performance, and revenue trends, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Approve and monitor capital and non-capital expenditures while assessing cost-effectiveness.
  • Integrate advanced technology and systems to improve productivity, cost efficiency, and customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client airlines, regulatory bodies, government agencies, local political groups, customs, immigration, DGCA, and the broader aviation business network.
  • Perform additional business functions and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to ensure compliance with legal obligations.
  • Adhere to MORSE policies and uphold ethical standards.

Qualifications and Experience Preferences :

  • Previous experience in remote locations
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; MBA
  • 10-15 years of experience in aviation operations, with a strong background in managerial roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make timely and informed decisions.
  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities, along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in English and the local language (Arabic), both written and verbal. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the ground, cargo & fuelling operations, vendor management, procurement, and regulatory compliance.
