Our client is a leading global Chemical Logistics Solutions provider. They seek a Business Development Manager to drive market expansion, enhance brand visibility, and strengthen customer engagement. This role will focus on developing and executing marketing strategies, generating leads, and improving customer retention to position the company as a market leader in Malaysia. The successful candidate will possess above-average analytical skills and solid experience utilising analytical tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to expand the company’s warehousing solutions, with a primary focus on chemical and petrochemical clients.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including non-chemical sectors that align with the company’s solutions.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of potential clients, successfully converting leads into long-term partnerships.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Conduct regular client visits to assess opportunities and ensure high levels of service satisfaction.
  • Negotiate and secure contracts to achieve sales and revenue targets.
  • Lead the preparation of RFIs and RFQs, ensuring competitive and client-centric proposals.
  • Develop and present business proposals that showcase the company’s expertise in warehousing and chemical logistics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service execution and delivery.
  • Support cross-functional projects and contribute to strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and marketing within the logistics and supply chain industry.
  • Experience working with chemical or petrochemical clients (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of Free Trade Zone (FTZ) operations or warehousing practices (advantageous).
  • Proven ability to sell warehousing solutions within the logistics industry.
  • General understanding of warehouse operations.
  • Exposure to handling chemical goods, including both dangerous and non-dangerous cargo, OR a proven track record in selling to general cargo customers.
  • Strong knowledge of market research techniques and databases.
  • Strong customer-centric approach with a solution-oriented mindset.
