Our client is a leading Tier 1 Global Forwarding specialist. They seek an experienced, customer-focused Road Freight Specialist in Dammam KSA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively plan, dispatch, and oversee domestic shipments through designated third-party transport companies, ensuring smooth execution for Export, Transit, Import, or Domestic shipments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to maximize the number of completed shipments.
  • Receive and process transport orders from customers efficiently.
  • Ensure timely booking of shipments with transport providers.
  • Accurately log shipments into the internal system without delay.
  • Coordinate loading and offloading activities between customers, drivers, and transporters.
  • Organize customs clearance using the necessary customer documentation.
  • Provide carriers with clear transport orders and instructions.
  • Send shipment pre-alerts to customers and destination offices as needed.
  • Follow up with transporters to obtain Proof of Delivery (POD).
  • Issue invoices based on pre-agreed estimates or rate agreements.
  • Provide shipment cost estimates in response to customer or sales requests.
  • Arrange bookings with nominated third-party transport providers to meet customer requirements.
  • Process customer and customs documentation within the required timeframes, adhering to regulations from third parties and local authorities (e.g., customs, trade laws, carriers).
  • Coordinate the movement of cargo within stipulated timeframes to meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor and manage all parties involved in the supply chain process.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both suppliers and customers.
  • Prepare customer-specific reports upon request.
  • Handle customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the Head of Road Freight in negotiating and maintaining supplier rates, contracts, and implementing system or process changes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, customs authorities, and transport providers.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in the road freight industry, specialising in Fleet & Driver Management within Saudi Arabia and GCC traffic.
  • Knowledge of Road Transport Market and Trends
  • Knowledge of the Saudi Road Transport Supplier market
  • Knowledge of Saudi Regulations towards social and safety regulations for Road Transport
  • Experience in Cost and Time Management of Trucks and drivers.
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Good English communication skills – written and spoken, Arabic preferable.
