Our client is a Tier 1 technical heavy-lifting company; they assist major clients with turnkey solutions for turnarounds & supply cranes, coordinators & riggers. They seek a Plant & Equipment Operations Manager who is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and professional operation of plant and equipment on company and customer sites. This role involves managing a broad range of equipment provisions for both internal and external customers while ensuring optimal maintenance and fostering customer relationships to drive business growth based at the Eastern Province HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe and professional operation of plant and equipment on company and customer sites.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Optimize resource allocation for efficient operations.
- Manage the provision of a varied and broad range of equipment to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
- Evaluate equipment needs and ensure timely availability to support operations.
- Actively participate as a proactive member of the company’s management team.
- Serve as the company’s expert in plant and equipment operations, providing guidance and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and expansion of company services while operating on customer sites.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and additional work opportunities.
- Promote a "Can Do" attitude toward servicing customer needs and resolving challenges effectively.
- Ensure effective maintenance of plant and equipment to maximize performance and lifespan.
- Develop maintenance schedules and monitor compliance to avoid operational downtime.
- Advise senior management on industry best practices in plant and equipment rental and associated services.
- Collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in crane operations, equipment management, or a related field.
- A diploma is required, with a Mechanical Engineering Degree or similar certification being essential.
- Strong technical expertise in plant and equipment operations is mandatory.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse nationalities in a dynamic environment.
