Our client is a leading Chemical Industry Logistics Solutions Provider. They seek an Operations Director (Saudi Arabia) who will be responsible for leading the operations strategy, ensuring the development and implementation of key improvement programs, and providing leadership to the operations management team. This role will oversee multiple logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring profitability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and recommend strategies to implement improvement programs in cost reduction, revenue growth, quality improvement, safety, and best practices across established and new contracts.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategies for the start-up of new operations.
  • Provide leadership in coaching, mentoring, personnel selection, and professional development within company guidelines.
  • Oversee operations management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
  • Maximize profitability by ensuring superior customer service, effective communication, and prompt follow-up on all pending customer matters.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and profitability across multiple high-volume logistics/supply chain operations.
  • Review, analyze, and present management and financial reports, budgets, expense reports, and forecasts to Senior Leadership.
  • Manage multiple high-volume logistics/supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee ad hoc projects, ensuring major projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Monitor progress on key projects, redistribute resources where appropriate, and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Ensure the organizational structure is efficiently planned and fully staffed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, support career and development plans, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee operational procedures including customer shipping requirements, planning, and development of logistics programs.
  • Manage the load planning process and resolve operational and service issues with carriers and warehouses.
  • Develop and refine methods and procedures for transportation and product expediting.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • MBA preferred or a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of operations management experience, including experience with 3PL supplier management, warehouse automation, and MRP systems.
  • Experience leading multi-site or international warehousing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • Expertise in state-of-the-art operations and logistics.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with a track record of executing strategies to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Experience with executive-level engagement and managing operations in large, complex organizations.
  • Proficiency in matrixed strategy implementation.
  • Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, or other relevant professional certifications.
  • Experience with driving revenue growth, customer retention, and managing profitability across multiple sites.
  • Proficiency in Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS) and MS Office applications.
  • Flexibility to travel locally and internationally as required.
  • Advanced understanding of project management methodologies, with a focus on managing solution-driven strategies.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to persuade, influence, and present formally in meetings and training environments.
  • Proven ability to manage financial aspects such as purchasing, budgeting, financial reporting, and expense monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic planning processes and the ability to develop and communicate project plans effectively.
  • Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision-making, and organizational skills.
