About the job Sales Consultant
Field Technical Estimator & Sales Consultant
Position: Field Technical Estimator & Sales Consultant
Location: Los Angeles County, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
This is a field-based role for someone who already knows masonry and concrete cold. Our client is a fourth-generation family business in Los Angeles, known for high-quality masonry, concrete, stone, and restoration work across residential and commercial projects. As our client centralizes its sales consulting function into one dedicated expert, they are looking for someone who can walk a job site, diagnose it accurately, and earn a client's trust on the spot.
What Makes This Role Different
This isn't a cold-calling or lead-gen sales job. Every appointment is pre-scheduled by the office team—you show up as the technical expert, assess the project, and price it using established formulas. After the visit, you send job notes and videos to the office, and the internal team handles the proposal, contract, and standard follow-up. Your job is the expertise, not the paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Diagnostics & Estimating: Walk job sites across residential and commercial properties to inspect site conditions, diagnose structural/aesthetic needs, and calculate pricing using accurate, established formulas.
- Client Engagement: Build immediate trust with property owners and project managers by providing sound technical guidance rather than high-pressure sales pitches.
- Field Communication: Record clear job notes, site measurements, and walkthrough videos to send back to the internal office team.
- Weekly Schedule Execution:
- 4 Field Days: Conduct roughly 5–6 pre-scheduled site appointments per day across Los Angeles County.
- 1 Dedicated Office/Secondary Day: Focus on priority follow-ups, secondary site visits, virtual consultations, and supporting high-value clients.
- Virtual Consultations: Manage periodic virtual estimate calls as needed.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ Years of Field Experience: Hands-on, in-field masonry and concrete experience across commercial and residential sectors.
- Deep Technical Expertise: Expert-level understanding of block, brick, stone, stucco, concrete, tile, grading, drainage, waterproofing, precast materials, and blueprint reading.
- Client Credibility: Proven track record of earning client confidence through deep trade knowledge and clear communication.
- Schedule & Time Management: Ability to stay organized across a full field schedule while remaining responsive to high-priority client needs.
Ideal Backgrounds
- Grew up in or worked extensively within a family-owned masonry/concrete business.
- Spent years as a tradesperson before advancing into a client-facing, site-management, or estimating role.
- Formerly owned or operated a masonry/concrete company.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $85,000 – $150,000/year (commensurate with experience)
- Commission: 2% uncapped commission on closed projects
- Company Vehicle: Dedicated company vehicle and gas card provided
- Health Benefits: Medical insurance coverage
- Growth: Professional development assistance
