Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Radiation Oncology Technician to join our team at a leading healthcare facility in Globe, AZ. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the radiation oncology department, including administering radiation therapy treatments and maintaining accurate patient records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients according to established treatment plans and protocols
- Monitor patient's well-being during treatment and make adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, dosages, and progress notes
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify treatment plans
- Educate patients and their families about the treatment process and potential side effects
- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Stay current on advancements in radiation therapy technology and techniques through continuing education and training opportunities
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the radiation oncology team.
Equipment: Varian Halcyon, Phillips CT, Aria, Eclipse
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Current certification as a Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Oncology Technician
- Strong knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, equipment, and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends as needed
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
