JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview

Our client seeks an exceptional CEO with a distinguished track record as a GM, CEO, COO, or CTO to lead our mission. As CEO, you will drive innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence within the mining sector. Your leadership will cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, client collaboration, and the professional development of our team. This role demands a pragmatic, hands-on leadership style, substantial expertise in nurturing human capital, mentoring, coaching, and a robust background in mining technology-driven industries, including SaaS solutions and IT architectural considerations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • As the CEO, reporting directly to the Board of Directors, your primary duty is to devise and implement commercially viable, strategies for deeper and wider market penetration. You'll be supported by our experienced ground crew and technology team. This involves leveraging state-of-the-art data-driven digital tools to enhance our clients mining operations and advancing transformative progress within the mining sector.
    • Identify and seize opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.
    • Provide leadership in IT, digital landscapes, software solutions, and architecture to support the company technological initiatives.
  1. Customer Focus:
    • Ensure a strong customer-centric approach, understanding client needs, and delivering innovative solutions.
    • Foster long-term client relationships and exceed customer expectations.
  1. Innovation and Technology:
    • Direct the Next-Generation Mining Optimisation Service and oversee technology-driven SaaS solutions aimed at enhancing on-the-ground experts' and clients' productivity gains.
    • Promote sustainability and environmental responsibility in the mining industry.
  1. Financial Management:
    • Manage the company's financial performance, optimizing cost savings and profitability.
    • Make strategic financial decisions to drive sustainable growth and global impact.
    • Lead in preparing for IPO, if applicable, and raising private equity funding.
  1. Revenue and Cash Flow Targets:
    • Set and achieve revenue and cash flow targets aligned with the organisations growth and sustainability goals.
    • Implement financial strategies to ensure the company's financial health and stability.
  1. EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes):
    • Drive initiatives to achieve and surpass EBIT targets.
    • Implement cost-effective measures to maximize EBIT margins.
  1. Team Leadership and Human Capital:
    • Lead a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Attract, retain, and develop top talent dedicated to the company mission.
    • Offer leadership and strategic guidance in IT, digital landscapes, software solutions, and architectural considerations.
    • Foster a culture of humility and continuous personal development.
    • Build and nurture human capital to drive the company's success.
    • Provide mentoring and coaching to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • The CEO sets clear performance expectations for the team aligned with company goals.

Qualifications

    • Demonstrated history of success as a GM, CEO, COO, or CTO, or in a comparable executive leadership position, with substantial expertise in mining or technology-driven industries related to mining. This includes leadership know-how in SaaS solutions, architectural IT considerations, and managing on-the-ground mining experts.
    • Proven track record of achieving milestones and driving business growth.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams effectively including and coaching abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at negotiating and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data for informed decision-making.
    • Experience in pre-IPO preparations and raising private equity.
    • Pragmatic, hands-on leadership style with a focus on building human capital.
    • Exceptional strategic thinking and a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
