General Counsel, VP, Head of Legal & Compliance

The Opportunity

Goodix is looking for a General Counsel (VP, Head of Legal & Compliance) to lead global legal & compliance function. This role will provide effective and efficient legal management and legal advising services for corporate strategy, daily operations and business development. As a strategic partner, this role will be part of the Leadership Team and will report directly to our President.

Responsibility

• Leading legal and compliance advising / risk analysis to corporate strategy, business development projects and operation planning
• Management of legal advising and contract handling as well as dispute settlement, labor / employment issue,
• Ensure legal conformance with local laws and mandatory rules, requirement and sector regulations in the individual market globally
• Legal support and cooperation to intercompany issues and projects, technical cooperation, intellectual property, R&D, joint venture / M&A, and etc.
• Manage legal & compliance department including team management and staff professional training, coordination with business segment / departments, legal/compliance documentation system and etc.

Qualification：

• Juris Doctor/or equivalent degree from an ABA (American Bar Association)-accredited law school or equivalent level school ; excellent academic credentials.
• Must be admitted and in good standing with an appropriate bar.
• With global perspective and experience as a group/corporate legal & compliance head
• 15 + years legal relevant experience, including 5+ years corporate in-house experience in MNCs of industry products with equivalent business model and complex (including R&D, sales, after sales service, solution and etc.) in USA or Europe, and/or a prominent American / European law firm.
• Experience in legal advice and contracts review of corporate, M&A, investment, JV incorporation, construction, labor issue and etc.
• Customer focus, work closely with business function to provide legal solution as business partner
• Negotiating skills with regards to legal, commercial as well as employment issues
• Team leadership
