As part of their commitment to excellence, they are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements, and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation, and liaise with auditors during annual audits.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis and support for strategic decision-making and special projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the payments or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with payment processing systems or fintech is a plus.
