Full job description
Our paving division has worked on many different types of projects around the city of Calgary from small patches to sub-divisions to interchanges to large commercial sites and consistently provides the highest quality work on schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate roller in continuous overlapping passes over asphalt to be compacted to desired depth and smoothness.
 - Operate the roller and other heavy equipment in a safe manner.
 - Performs daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify any potential mechanical issues and advises the Foreman.
 - Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and others on the work sites.
 - Attends and participates in toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled.
 - Reports unsafe work, unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, and near misses to the supervisor and participates in the investigative process.
 - Comply with established company policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
 - Assists other employees when required.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 3 year experience operating a roller.
 - Active Standard First Aid Certification.
 - Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification.
 - Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
 - Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and reliability.
 - Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.
 
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends during the work season from April to December.
 - Must be able to work in extreme heat up to and could exceed 64 Celsius.
 - Must have CSA-approved safety boots.
 - Able to sit for a long periods and look over shoulder.
 - Able to climb up and down from equipment.
 
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: From $36.00 per hour
