RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, supervise and coordinate a team of instrumentation, controls and electrical technologists, engineers and design drafting staff

Resource allocation and planning for the departments in conjunction with the Engineering Managers planning and scheduling department

Ensure all required design deliverables are provided to other departments in a timely manner

Provide high level engineering guidance to the instrumentation, control and electrical departments

Responsible for the accuracy of estimates and designs proposed for instrumentation, control and electrical systems

Manage the development of EI&C departments design standards and tools and communicate and train staff

Acting as a client liaison for the scope of instrumentation, controls and electrical on projects

Project coordination and liaison with other disciplines

Participating in Client meetings as necessary

Participating in Engineering Planning Meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 + years in a leadership role
  • 10 + years of experience in a related industry and scope of work
  • Technical Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalency
  • ASET or APEGA designation
  • Proficient in the sizing, selection and application of use of instrumentation for process plant applications
  • Proficient in the design of electrical systems including power, lighting, controls, communications, grounding, fire alarm
  • Proficient knowledge of EI&C manufacturers and products
  • Proficient at estimating the EI&C portion of process equipment packages
  • Conducting a bid analysis for selection of the appropriate vendor
  • Inspecting equipment when received as required
  • Preparation of written sections for EI&C scope for equipment proposals
  • Testing and commissioning instrument equipment when required for a project
  • Managing and reviewing EI&C drawings and deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance to project scope
  • Coordinating EI&C drawings and deliverables with other disciplines
