Our client, a dynamic mid-sized private company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished accounting professional to take the lead in financial management across multiple entities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding the company's financial operations, while also mentoring a talented team of professionals. This position is designed to evolve into the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role within the next 2-5 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Perform consolidations for multiple entities and ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to optimize efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting and finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, development, and accountability.
- Analyze financial data to provide strategic recommendations to the executive team.
- Support the preparation of annual audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Partner with leadership to drive financial planning and growth strategies, positioning the company for future success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters degree or MBA is a plus).
- CPA designation preferred; candidates with extensive relevant experience will also be considered.
- 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated success in financial management, consolidations, and reporting across multiple entities.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of finance or accounting professionals.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
- Familiarity with accounting software and advanced proficiency in Excel.
