An International Onshore Drilling company is looking for experienced Mechanics to be based in KUWAIT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment, including engines, pumps, compressors, generators, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and faults, and carry out repairs or replace faulty components as necessary.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems are operating at peak efficiency and reliability.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities for onshore oil and gas equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, strategies, and procedures to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, and execute effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders and equipment histories.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior mechanics.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and protocols.
  • To maintain all company owned and operated mechanical equipment accordingly and to repair any equipment which breaks down.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or vocational training in mechanical engineering, diesel mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience of 3+years as a Mechanic with land-based drilling rigs and familiarity with rig-specific mechanical systems is highly desirable.
  • Relevant mechanical certifications or licenses.
  • Safety certifications (e.g., H2S, First Aid, Firefighting) are advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of onshore oil and gas equipment, including pumps, compressors, generators, and other machinery.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding and often challenging environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call when necessary.
