Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Drilling Manager (office based in Kuwait) to lead and manage all technical aspects of drilling operations. Extensive background in Oil & Gas drilling practices, strong expertise in managing and maintaining drilling equipment, and a proven ability to lead teams to execute safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling activities is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:
    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee drilling operations to ensure alignment with company objectives.
    • Monitor drilling performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
    • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for drilling activities.
    • Frequent travel to drilling sites and operational facilities is expected.
  2. Equipment Management:
    • Manage, maintain, and optimize drilling equipment to ensure operational readiness and reliability.
    • Coordinate equipment inspections, maintenance schedules, and repairs to minimize downtime.
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve operational performance.
  3. Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drilling engineers, technicians, and operators.
    • Foster a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide training and technical guidance to team members.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all drilling activities comply with local and international safety and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for drilling operations.
    • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions as required.
  5. Project Management:
    • Develop and manage drilling budgets, timelines, and resource allocations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, reservoir engineers, and project managers, to deliver successful drilling projects.
    • Provide detailed technical reports and updates to stakeholders.
  6. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement drilling strategies to meet long-term organizational goals.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiencies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in Oil & Gas drilling operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Extensive knowledge of Oil & Gas drilling practices, technologies, and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of drilling fluids, well control, and directional drilling techniques.
  • Proficiency in using drilling simulation software and other relevant tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale drilling projects.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
