For one of our prestigious clients, a leader in the Energy sector, we are seeking a Commercial Manager to be based in Muscat, Oman.

Role objective:

  • This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive revenue growth, managing contracts and negotiations, and ensuring the financial success of the organization. The manager plays a crucial role in analyzing and assessing economic factors and market trends to support strategic decision-making and maximize profitability.

Individual accountabilities/duties

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives. 
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential partnerships, acquisitions, and market expansion.
  • Conduct comprehensive economic analysis, including market research, cost-benefit analysis, and financial modeling, to evaluate potential investments and assess the viability of renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to analyze project economics, including cash flow projections, return on investment (ROI), net present value (NPV), and internal rate of return (IRR) for various renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate investment opportunities and make informed recommendations based on financial and economic analysis. 
  • Assess risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to enhance investment decisions. 
  • Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies by providing economic insights, identifying potential growth areas, and evaluating market entry strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate and finalize commercial agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Review and analyze contractual documents, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with the business development team to identify new opportunities and develop strategic plans for market penetration.

Experience:

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Business administration, or any other related field. 
  • A masters degree is preferable
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in a relevant field, of which at least 3 years be at a /managerial level
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience in financial modeling, investment analysis, and risk assessment
  • Proficient in financial software and tools, including Microsoft Excel and financial modeling software
