One of our prestigious client, a leading organization in the oil and gas industry, based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Technical Services Director

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement asset modification procedures to ensure standardized engineering practices are utilized.
  • Define and measure the achievement of goals, priorities, and standards within the Technical Department.
  • Develop and manage the budget, resources, and tools for the Engineering, Maintenance, and Marine departments.
  • Create and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to provide standardized maintenance tasks, incorporating best practices and ensuring continuous improvement for enhanced reliability and asset lifespan.
  • Oversee the development and administration of a 5-year rig inspection and maintenance plan.
  • Offer strategic support and advice to operations and supply chain teams for annual maintenance and equipment purchase budgets.
  • Contribute strategic input to the annual maintenance budget process.
  • Manage compliance with regulatory and regional marine requirements and provide necessary support.
  • Offer strategic guidance and recommendations to the project team when required.
  • Communicate lessons learned and performance improvement opportunities to project teams for integration into new build processes.
  • Oversee and manage major downtime and marine-related incident investigations.
  • Actively participate in incident investigations and manage corrective actions for the Technical Department.
  • Lead standardization activities from a technical perspective and assist supply chain teams as required.
  • Evaluate and implement suitable new technologies for rig operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, Marine Science, or a related field.

Required Skills

  • At least 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 5+ years in managerial roles.
  • Expertise in offshore design engineering, maintenance, and project management.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, influencing, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong ability to motivate, mentor, and coach team members.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and financial management.
  • Competence in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Physically capable of transport to offshore rigs via boat or helicopter.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including functions, macros, and data import/export).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with document control systems and databases.
