We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager for our client in Kuwait. This is a full-time residential position based in Kuwait.
Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading all maintenance activities related to heavy mobile equipment and support fleet assets, ensuring maximum equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency while supporting the company's overall operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Management
- Lead and oversee all maintenance activities for heavy equipment and support fleet assets.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Plan and schedule routine servicing, repairs, shutdowns, and major equipment overhauls.
- Manage maintenance budgets and monitor contractor performance to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, equipment, and maintenance resources.
Equipment Reliability
- Monitor fleet performance and drive equipment reliability improvement initiatives.
- Lead troubleshooting activities and conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for major equipment failures.
- Ensure the availability of critical spare parts, tools, and maintenance resources.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment uptime, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with company HSE policies, industry standards, and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and performance reports through CMMS systems.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions as required.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel and contractors.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Coordinate effectively with operations teams, OEMs, and third-party service providers to ensure seamless equipment support.
- Drive workforce capability development through coaching and training initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
- At least 3 years of experience in a maintenance management or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing heavy mobile equipment, cranes, and support fleets.
- Strong experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
Preferred Profile
- Extensive experience in heavy equipment maintenance, particularly within large industrial, mining, construction, ports, or heavy logistics operations.
- Demonstrated success in improving equipment reliability, availability, and maintenance performance.
- Previous experience working in multicultural Middle East operations is highly preferred.
- Candidates from Canada, the United States, Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia, and China will be preferred.
