Job Overview:

The HR Manager at an automotive distributor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. The HR Manager plays a critical role in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting the company's strategic objectives. Report to the Executive Director based in Malaysia.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Employee Relations
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances.
    • Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee issues and facilitating conflict resolution.
    • Implement programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  2. Performance Management
    • Develop and oversee performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance.
    • Provide guidance to managers on conducting performance reviews and setting development goals.
    • Address performance issues and implement improvement plans as needed.
  3. Training and Development
    • Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
    • Coordinate internal and external training sessions and workshops.
    • Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
  4. Compensation and Benefits
    • Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs.
    • Conduct market research to ensure competitive salary structures.
    • Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  5. Compliance and Policy Management
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
    • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures.
    • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  6. Workforce Planning and Analytics
    • Analyze workforce trends and metrics to support business decisions.
    • Develop staffing plans to meet the company's operational needs.
    • Monitor HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, absenteeism) and report to senior management.
  7. Recruitment and Staffing
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
    • Oversee the hiring process, including job postings, interviews, and selection.
    • Manage onboarding and orientation programs to ensure new hires integrate smoothly into the company.
  8. Health and Safety
    • Promote workplace health and safety initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
    • Manage workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Masters degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in human resources, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role; experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Working Location:

Kuala Lumpur - Occasional travel to various offices might be needed
