The Role
As the General Manager, CMC, you will own all aspects of building Veeva’s new CMC business. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Regulatory, you will lead a high-performing team of life sciences industry and technology experts to deliver applications and capabilities to the market. Operating as an exceptional problem solver, you are highly comfortable navigating ambiguity to define strategies and build where no playbook exists. You will be responsible for driving overall product definition, product development, business growth, ensuring customer success, scaling the team with top talent, and continuously driving innovation in what and how we build for our customers.
- Partner with Product leadership to define the CMC offering, grounding the product roadmap in deep customer research and market analysis
- Act as the strategic bridge between Regulatory and Quality/Manufacturing teams internally, while driving diverse internal teams to execute key initiatives
- Lead the commercial strategy for the CMC product line by collaborating with leadership on pricing, partnering with Marketing on positioning, and enabling Sales to generate and close opportunities
- Ability to navigate unchartered market territories, design business frameworks from scratch, and make high-stakes product decisions with incomplete or rapidly evolving data
- Strong analytical framework to break down complex market realities to their root components, prioritizing speed and elegant, simple solutions over bureaucratic processes
- Serve as the face of Veeva CMC by hosting customer forums, speaking at industry conferences, and cultivating strong relationships to build a robust pipeline
- 12+ Years of Enterprise Software Experience: A proven track record of career progression and measurable results within an enterprise application software or top-tier consulting firm
- 10+ years of experience launching, scaling, or leading early-stage startup ventures, demonstrating a high comfort level with rapid growth and ambiguity
- 5+ years directly owning or heavily influencing business line metrics, with a focus on driving growth strategies, scaling high-performing teams, and shaping pricing and go-to-market execution
- Direct experience with Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls, or pharmaceutical development

- Base pay: $150,000 - $300,000
- The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
