The Opportunity
The Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering has an opportunity for a Research Associate. This role is based in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale Biophotonics in the area of advanced imaging/data science, at the UNSW site and also at other Nodes of the Centre. You will be conducting research and developing software in the area of hyperspectral imaging and fluorescence.
This position will give you the opportunity to develop your scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally through your contributions to the writing of scientific papers and reports for international journals, your participation in conferences and workshops, and your active engagement with industry partners.
This role reports to Professor Ewa Goldys, and has no direct reports

- Level A, Salary - AUD$110,059 to $117,718 per annum + 17% superannuation

Skills And Experience
- PhD (or soon to be awarded) in hyperspectral autofluorescence imaging and analysis or related area.
- Demonstrated skills in advanced image analysis and data science, including writing code.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision, particularly in the area of basic cell assays.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
