You will perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic, inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties during chemical syntheses, fermentation or drug product development process.

You will be using your scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work experience and consulting others. Your ability to plan will help in preparing short-term work activities on projects. Your creativity in developing novel processes and new ideas will be used frequently. You will undertake mentoring activities to guide your team members.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and development of new polymer materials.
  • Characterize polymer properties and its degradation using advanced techniques like FT-IR, DSC, TGA, LC-MS, GC-MS, etc.
  • Design and execute experiments to test and improve polymer performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate polymer solutions into products.
  • Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in polymer science and technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Design and execute experiments to test polymer properties and performance.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques (e.g., NMR, FTIR, DSC, TGA, GPC, LC-MS, GC-MS, etc.) to characterize polymer materials.
  • Analyze data and interpret results to understand material behavior.
  • Identify and solve complex problems related to polymer synthesis and applications.
  • Develop innovative solutions to enhance polymer functionality and performance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product developers, and other scientists.
  • Communicate findings and progress through reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, research papers, and documentation of experiments.
  • Maintain accurate records of research activities and results.
  • Keep up to date with the latest advancements in polymer science and technology.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay informed about industry trends.
  • Manage research projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Collaborate as appropriate with the cross functional teams; prepare pertinent scientific and administrative reports as needed. Review reports and analyze data on Impurities profile / critical quality attributes of development samples.
  • Responsible for future aspects of work related to external labs and universities to complete the outsourced activities.
  • Safety: To follow appropriate safety practices in the workplace. Participate in routine safety training and maintain current knowledge on safety related corporate and site policies. Enforce safety requirements as they relate to job function.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Ph.D., in Polymer Chemistry
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience with interdisciplinary drug development teams and industrial experience developing analytical strategies and methods in support of product and process development and to assess the quality and characteristics of biotherapeutics
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, such as Good Laboratory Practices {part of GxP}
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in functional verification of design
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry test standards, relevant regulatory guidance, Design Controls and Product Development Process
  • Able to interact effectively with peers andleaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
