JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop and execute strategies to identify and target potential new customers through effective research and utilizing prospecting tools, industry websites and other resources.
- Respond and follow up on all website leads with the goal of establishing CDA/MSA’s and eventually turning leads into opportunities and customers
- Engage with potential new customers through cold calls, emails and other cold outreach campaigns.
- Rigorously document communications and keep up to date the customer relationship management (CRM) database
- Identify and communicate new trends and technologies in the market that may impact sales strategies
- Assist Field Business Developers in responding to customer needs as they arise
- Provide excellent customer service by following through with prompt solutions to all customer inquiries
- Be a pro-active, contributing member of the Sales team.
- Contribute to short- and long-term territory business plans through in depth understanding of customer needs and the services we provide
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers through sound scientific expertise and business acumen
- Effectively work and communicate with internal, BDs and SMEs
- Contribute to team and departmental initiatives outside of day-to-day selling in your territory
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required, post graduate or MBA preferred.
- Scientific background required with experience in bioanalysis (LC-MS/MS or immunoassay) strongly preferred
- A demonstrated track record of strong communication skills in previous positions, both written and verbal (e.g. customer facing positions including sales, project management, or principal investigator)
- Life science sales or marketing experience preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with a variety of sales concepts, practices, and procedures is an asset
- Desire and motivation to develop a strong understanding of the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, and hunt for new opportunities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must be able to perform all responsibilities of the position
- Ability to work in a virtual and field-based environment- local and national travel required for this position
- Valid Driver’s license is required for this position
