Freelance Senior Healthcare Data Analyst - REMOTE

Role Description

The Senior Programmer will manage extensive healthcare databases, ensuring the quality and integrity of data, and transforming this data into a common model accessible to a broad range of professionals within the company. The role is critical in providing technical support, reports, and presentations to epidemiologists, analysts, and programmers.

Key Responsibility

• Manage the inflow of healthcare claims and electronic medical record (EMR) databases.
• Conduct quality checks, develop specifications, and transform data to facilitate accessibility and usability.
• Develop and provide reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to enhance data utilization and impact.
• Engage with data vendors to ensure high standards of data quality and support.

Required skills and Qualification

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of SAS programming experience, including SAS Macros.
• At least one year of Python programming experience.
• Proficient in SQL for database querying, transformation, and quality control.
• Proven experience with real-world healthcare data sources such as Flatiron, Ontada, MarketScan, Optum, Medicare, and EMR databases.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with data vendors and internal stakeholders.

Qualification

• Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Five years of SAS programming experience.
• Experience with Databricks programming environments, including Spark SQL and Python.
• Proficiency in Spotfire for reporting and visualization.
• Familiarity with software development and design life cycles, ideally in an Agile environment.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
