Promote the organisational strategy of build thriving and connected communities in the Central and Northeast region through an ecosystem of care by:

  • Helping to build a practice within the organisation that harnesses community assets for community-led development, congruent with the vision, mission and values of the organisation.
  • Working closely with superiors, team members and strategic internal stakeholders who oversees strategy implementation, corporate communications, volunteer development and community work to cascade and build community development throughout the Central and North-East region that the organisation serves.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategy Implementation

  • Work closely with the Director and supervisor to cascade and embed the Community Development Strategy by helping to conceptualize and develop communication, evaluation and learning tools.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand their needs, build rapport while supporting frontline practitioners in mindset and behavioural shifts towards Asset Based Community Development.
  • Support the co-creation and subsequent implementation of a Community-centric Social Work Practice that enables our practitioners to mobilise our beneficiaries as contributors and change agents.
  • Work closely with the Director and supervisor to support knowledge building of community development by co-developing learning modules derived from practice wisdom and community participatory research.

Research & Evaluation

  • Work closely with community workers to conceptualise, propose and implement a documentation and evaluation framework with both quantitative indicators (e.g. participation rate, participation ladder, neighbourhood penetrations rates etc.) and qualitative indicators (e.g. case studies, stories etc.) that can help the agency track and evaluate her community development strategy.
  • Ensure timely collation and submissions of the required reports to Director and Senior Management.

Others

  • Represent the organisation in the workgroup/taskforce assigned to.
  • Undertake and spearhead special projects, assignments, or programmes in the organisation as and when required.
  • Undertake any other work responsibility assigned by supervisor/HOD.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor in Social Work / Sociology/ Community Work or related discipline from a reputable university.
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience and proven successful track record in social service organisation/s.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication, especially English.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrate sound and updated professional knowledge and skills in social work.
  • Good analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Inclined towards strategic thinking.
  • Strong research & evaluation skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Resourceful in getting and optimally using relevant resources to accomplish work targets cost-effectively and efficiently.
  • Receptive and adapt well to organisational, industry and work changes.
  • Creative and savvy in IT and multi-media communications preferred.
