Facilities Officer
Job Description:
Our client operates a national biomedical research facility supporting high containment and translational research critical to public health preparedness. They are seeking a hands-on Facilities Officer / Technician to support day-to-day technical operations and ensure a safe, reliable facility environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage receiving, storage and issuance of engineering materials, equipment, consumables and critical spare parts while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Support daily facility inspections, monitor engineering system readings and assist with first-level troubleshooting and fault reporting.
- Assist in implementing safety procedures, permit-to-work controls and safe work practices during maintenance and contractor activities.
- Maintain facility documentation including maintenance logs, checklists, service reports and contractor compliance records.
- Escort vendors and contractors during works, ensuring adherence to site safety rules and operational procedures.
- Respond to facility fault reports, perform minor repairs and support general housekeeping and operational readiness of the site.
Requirements
- Nitec / Higher Nitec / Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities or Building Services Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience in technical facility operations; inventory or store management experience is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of building services (M&E) and ability to perform first-level troubleshooting.
- Comfortable using inventory tools or software (e.g., Excel or digital tracking systems).
- Strong safety awareness, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
