Facilities Officer

 Job Description:

Our client operates a national biomedical research facility supporting high-containment and translational research critical to public health preparedness. They are looking for a hands-on Facilities Officer to support daily technical operations and help maintain a safe, well-organised and reliable facility environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage receiving, storage and issuance of engineering materials, consumables and critical spare parts, ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Support daily facility inspections, monitor system readings and assist with basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, checklists and contractor documentation.
  • Assist with safety procedures, permit-to-work controls and ensure safe work practices on site.
  • Escort vendors and contractors during maintenance works.
  • Respond to minor fault reports and support general operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Nitec / Higher Nitec / Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • At least 2 years experience in facilities or technical operations.
  • Basic knowledge of building services (M&E) and first-level troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable using Excel or simple inventory tracking systems.
  • Detail-oriented, safety-conscious and able to coordinate with different stakeholders.
