M&E Technician
Job Description:
Our client operates a national high-containment biomedical research facility that supports advanced scientific and biosafety research. They are seeking a hands-on and reliable M&E Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of critical building systems within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting and fire protection systems to ensure smooth facility operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair building equipment including electrical circuits, panels, motors, pumps and related systems.
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS), respond to alarms and operational issues, and maintain accurate system readings and records.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and internal procedures, maintaining proper documentation, logs and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, and support facility upgrades, shutdowns and installations.
- Provide emergency response support for mechanical and electrical breakdowns and participate in standby or shift duties when required.
Requirements
- ITE / Higher ITE / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical or plumbing systems preferred.
- Basic ability to read M&E drawings and technical manuals; familiarity with CMMS is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and physical fitness to work in demanding environments.
- Willingness to work shifts or after-hours when required; electrical license (e.g. LEW) is a plus.
