 Job Description:

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will work full-time and will primarily be responsible for:

  • Project Planning and Management: Overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of projects, ensuring effective construction management, report writing, and presentation preparation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Expectation Management: Managing project expectations by ensuring that all requirements are met, and projects are delivered on time and within budget, from concept through to completion.
  • Scope and Crisis Management: Proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential issues, and developing contingency plans as necessary to mitigate risks.
  • Comprehensive Project Oversight: Ensuring that all aspects of project management technical, contractual, and administrative are effectively controlled and managed.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintaining project quality assurance by implementing and overseeing necessary processes and standards.
  • Contract Drafting Assistance: Assisting in the drafting of contracts for consultants and contractors, ensuring all necessary details are included.
  • Cost Management: Keeping cost plans updated and ensuring all relevant financial information is incorporated to reflect the current project status.
  • Master Program Tracking: Regularly reviewing, updating, and tracking the master program for various projects to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Risk Mitigation: Actively identifying project risks and managing issues as they arise, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international health and safety standards, as well as construction industry regulations.
  • Tender Documentation Compilation: Compiling tender and contractual documentation, ensuring all clarifications are provided to bidders, which aids in the tender selection and appraisal process.
  • Role of Engineer: Undertaking the responsibilities of the 'Engineer' as defined in FIDIC contracts, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.
  • Construction Process Planning: Assisting in the planning of the construction process to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Procurement Management: Developing and executing procurement strategies and managing procurement processes effectively.
  • Site Supervision: Conducting site inspections and providing supervision services to ensure project compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Construction Project Management or a related field (e.g., Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering). A master's degree in a relevant subject is a plus.
  • Proven experience in delivering complex and large-scale projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams from inception to completion, with involvement in both pre- and post-contract stages.
  • Strong technical and commercial understanding of local infrastructure and building projects, along with a solid grasp of FIDIC principles, quality assurance, and on-site safety procedures.
  • Membership or Fellowship in RICS (preferably through the Project Management route) or other recognized project management certifications (e.g., PMP from PMI) would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and related documentation.
  • Capacity to work under pressure, with keen attention to detail and exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated resilience, leadership, and effective negotiation skills, along with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills and a measured approach to decision-making, with the capability to make timely decisions that enhance project efficiency.

This prestigious high-rise development project has commenced and is anticipated to span approximately five years. We are looking to fill key positions, starting with a Project Manager who can guide projects through design, tendering, and on-site execution. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in high-rise developments.
