Role Overview

Our client is a well-established aviation organization seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer / Inspector to perform aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and Canadian aviation regulations. The successful candidate will ensure aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and airworthiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Inspect aircraft structures, engines, systems, and components for defects or wear.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and avionics-related issues.
  • Complete maintenance tasks in accordance with approved manuals, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Conduct functional checks and support aircraft testing following maintenance activities.
  • Identify and report defects and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations, company procedures, and HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to meet aircraft availability targets.
  • Support audits, quality inspections, and continuous safety improvement initiatives.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence appropriate to the aircraft category is required.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures, regulations, and technical manuals.
  • Experience troubleshooting aircraft mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to aviation safety.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.

Good to Have

  • Experience with commercial, corporate, regional, or charter aircraft.
  • Experience with aircraft inspections and airworthiness documentation.
  • Previous experience in an MRO or airline maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada Civil Aviation Standards and Regulations.
  • Additional aircraft type ratings or certifications.
