About the job B1 (B1.3 & B1.4) Mechanical Technician
JOB SUMMARY:
The B1 Mechanical Technician will be responsible for providing optimal service support for maintenance and flight line activities to ensure excellent fleet availability with the highest quality and safety standards. They will perform detailed inspections, assembly, installation, repair, or replacement of aircraft components and systems, as well as maintenance and refurbishing of aircraft. The B1 Mechanical Technician will work as part of a team to complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, quality checks, and documentation in accordance with Company and Customer procedures. They will also conduct operational implementation on the flight line, daily servicing, refueling, and helicopter towing as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with Aviation, Safety, Quality, and Export Control Regulations and Procedures
- Comply with Airbus Helicopters Management Systems, Policies, and Regulations
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the helicopter fleet within a customer environment
- Complete daily preventive, corrective, servicing, and routine maintenance to release aircraft for flight
- Ensure all activities are completed on time, on cost, and on quality while maintaining safety requirements
- Conduct operational implementation on the flight line, including daily servicing, refueling, and helicopter towing
- Interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical publications
- Determine repair procedures for defective equipment and components
- Diagnose recurring malfunctions and recommend corrective actions
- Record all work performed on appropriate paperwork and ensure correct use and control of aircraft parts and materials
- Verify aircraft status, perform Release to Service, and ensure aircraft condition is serviceable
- Conduct on-the-job training and train personnel on maintenance manuals, safety directives, and FOD procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
SPECIFICATIONS:
GENERAL
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Experience with MS Office
PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years of experience in helicopters maintenance and the aeronautical industry
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
- FAA or EASA Part-66 B1.3 licensed aircraft technician (ICAO licenses will also be considered)
- Aircraft Maintenance Type Training Course Part 147
- Practical working experience with Cougar/Super Puma family helicopters
ESSENTIAL
- Experience working within a team of technicians and adapting to various work environments
- English Proficiency (Advanced Level)
- Advanced Technical Diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of technical documentation and Quality Control/Quality Assurance activities
- Knowledge of International and National Civil Aviation Legislation
- Experience working on Airbus Helicopters platforms
DESIRABLE
- Experience working in a military environment
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
