About the job B2 Avionics Technician
JOB SUMMARY:
The B2 Avionics Technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal service support for maintenance and flight line activities to achieve excellent fleet availability with the highest quality and safety standards. They will perform detailed inspections, assembly, installation, repair, or replacement of aircraft components and systems, as well as maintenance (both scheduled and unscheduled) and function checks of components. The B2 Avionics Technician will also provide on-the-job training as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with Aviation, Safety, Quality, and Export Control Regulations and Procedures
- Comply with Airbus Helicopters Management Systems, Policies, and Regulations
- Work as part of a team to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the helicopter fleet
- Undertake aircraft maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks, quality checks, and completion of documentation
- Perform electrical assembly, integration, modification, system repairs, quality inspections, and functional tests
- Analyze performance and isolate malfunctions of avionic instrument and flight control systems
- Conduct checkouts, inspections, and repairs of avionic instrument and flight control systems
- Ensure all work is recorded and signed off appropriately
- Verify aircraft status, update scheduled tasks, and sign off on aircraft airworthiness
- Train personnel on maintenance manuals, safety directives, and FOD procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
SPECIFICATIONS:
GENERAL
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team
- Experience in MS Office
- Ability to inspect entire Avionics Package for serviceability and airworthiness
PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years of experience in helicopter maintenance
- Five or more years of experience in the aeronautical industry
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
- FAA or EASA Part-66 B2 licensed aircraft technician
- Aircraft Maintenance Type Training Course Part 147
- Practical working experience with Cougar/Super Puma family
ESSENTIAL
- Experience working within a team of technicians and ability to adapt to various work environments
- English Proficiency (Advanced Level)
- Advanced Technical Diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of technical documentation
- Knowledge of Quality Control/Quality Assurance activities
- Knowledge of International and National Civil Aviation Legislation
- Ideal candidate will have experience working on Airbus Helicopters platforms
DESIRABLE
- Experience working in a military environment
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
