Our client is a cutting-edge startup focused on developing innovative eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft. As a leader in the industry, they are committed to creating battery systems that enhance aircraft performance and set new standards in power output and range.
Role Overview:
The Powertrain Development Battery Manager will be responsible for developing the advanced battery systems to be installed in eVTOL aircraft. This critical role directly influences key performance metrics, such as power output and range, and requires a strong technical foundation in battery technology and system development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop battery system requirements for eVTOL aircraft
- Select and procure battery cells
- Oversee the design, development, and manufacturing of battery packs
- Manage the selection, design, and development of Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Lead battery system unit tests, system tests, and flight tests
- Design and construct battery system test facilities
- Handle the structural and electrical design, as well as the manufacturing of components related to the system and test equipment
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, aviation, or related fields
- Strong background in battery technology (cells, packs, BMS) is highly preferred
- Comprehensive engineering knowledge of design, development, manufacturing, and testing processes
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering and battery systems
- 4+ years of engineering experience in the manufacturing industry
- Development experience in aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, trains, drones, or robotics
- Business-level proficiency in English
- Basic knowledge of eVTOL technology
- Experience negotiating with suppliers
- Practical experience in obtaining safety certifications
- Mass production experience is a plus

Compensation:
- Competitive salary based on experience and skills
- Monthly salary (including 20 hours of overtime pay): 400,000 to 1,000,000 yen
- Stock options available
