About Our Client: Our client is a forward-thinking and well-funded startup in the aerospace sector, specializing in the development of innovative eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft. They are dedicated to advancing aviation technology and are seeking an expert to lead their powertrain systems development.
The Role: They are looking for a highly skilled Powertrain Lead Engineer to provide technical direction and oversee the development of eVTOL powertrain systems. This role involves managing power and propulsion system development projects to ensure the successful implementation of high-performance, reliable aircraft-grade powertrains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of critical powertrain systems, including:
- Battery System
- Charging System
- Inverter
- Motor
- Harness
- Propellers
- High-voltage test facility (for safe and reliable testing)
- Oversee engineering operations, including system design and the establishment of test facilities as needed.
- Collaborate with the project manager and other development leaders to drive the overall eVTOL development.
Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, aeronautics, or related fields.
- Open to diverse educational backgrounds, ages, and nationalities.
Desired Experience:
- Experience in developing electric aircraft, electric vehicles, or similar technologies.
- Experience handling power equipment in the tens to hundreds of kW range.
- Practical experience with power supplies, batteries, and power electronics.
- Expertise in circuit design and development.
- Over 7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Managerial or lead engineering experience.
- Experience in vehicle or drone development (e.g., aircraft, automotive, robotics).
- Extensive knowledge of design, development, manufacturing, and testing processes.
- Business-level English proficiency.
- Basic understanding of eVTOL technology.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers, obtaining safety certifications, and managing mass production.
