Technical Project Manager

Our client in the automotive industry is seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to lead and coordinate the technical aspects of their projects, ensuring successful integration of various subprojects and alignment with overall objectives.

THIS POSITION IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS OF JAPAN.

[Primary Duties as Technical Project Manager]

  • Propose, coordinate, and maintain the technical scenarios of projects, including:
    • Creating integrated plans that account for interactions between subprojects such as system, software, mechatronics, and system verification.
    • Leading release definition committees to define the contents of each system release.
    • Defining, tracking, and addressing technical challenges and risks across multiple subprojects delegated by the system PM, including problem-solving activities.
    • Ensuring traceability from all specifications/use cases to system test cases, and preparing regular reports comparing planned vs. actual system performance in vehicles.

[Role as System Subproject Leader]

  • Establish system subprojects, manage resource allocation and scheduling.
  • Oversee the creation and review of all technical deliverables, including compliance matrices, configuration management plans, architecture and functional hierarchies, SFMEA, SyRS, application database baselines, etc.
  • Lead change request management activities related to system subprojects and plan system reviews.
  • Track progress for upcoming system releases and prepare regular reports on subproject system expenditures and forecasts.
  • Contribute to the system development section of the project handbook and ensure the team's work environment and tools are appropriately set for the project.
  • Collaborate with all lead functions and process engineers to ensure continuous process improvement and ASPICE compliance.

Qualifications

  • Skill Set:

    • Experience in automotive product development.
    • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and system/software development.
    • Basic understanding of electronic devices.
    • Knowledge of cloud technology, telematics architecture, and data handling.
    • Ability to understand stakeholder (internal, customer, supplier) expectations and resolve issues.
    • Experience in system engineering, requirements engineering, and testing.
    • Analytical skills, root cause analysis, and problem-solving ability.
    • Strong communication, reporting skills, and basic quality knowledge.
  • Languages:

    • English: Business level required.
    • Japanese: Business level required.
