About Our Client: Our client is a dynamic and well-funded startup in the aerospace industry, dedicated to developing advanced eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft. They are at the cutting edge of aviation technology and are looking to enhance their propulsion systems to drive the future of urban mobility.
The Role: They are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the development of the propulsion unit for our eVTOL aircraft. This role involves providing technical direction, managing the development team, and ensuring the successful implementation of high-performance propulsion systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define requirements for the propulsion unit and manage the necessary resources, including technology, personnel, equipment, and schedules.
- Lead the development of reliable, high-performance aircraft-grade propulsion systems.
- Collaborate with the product manager and development leaders to advance the overall eVTOL project.
- Oversee the design and development of critical systems, including:
- Propulsion units for vertical takeoff and landing
- Batteries
- Harnesses
- Motors
- ESC (Electronic Speed Controllers)
- Propellers
- Thrust units for horizontal flight
- Test facilities for propulsion systems
Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, aeronautics, or related fields.
- Open to diverse educational backgrounds, ages, and nationalities.
Desired Experience:
- Product management experience in consumer electronics, industrial equipment, measurement instruments, or robotics.
- Experience with electric aircraft, electric vehicles, or similar technologies.
- Practical experience with power supplies, batteries, and power electronics.
- Expertise in handling power equipment at tens to hundreds of kW levels.
- Circuit design and development experience.
- Over 7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Experience in vehicle or drone development (e.g., aircraft, automotive, robotics).
- Comprehensive knowledge of design, development, manufacturing, and testing principles.
- Business-level English proficiency.
- Basic understanding of the eVTOL field.
- Experience in negotiating with suppliers, obtaining safety certifications, and managing mass production.
