Language Bear is a 10-year-old content writing and translation company headquartered in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, with secondary offices in the United States and Georgia. Supported by over 2,000 linguists based all over the world, we offer 100+ languages and work with clients across 10 different industries. Our services help digital businesses improve their SEO rankings, drive organic traffic to their websites, and reach new markets in new languages.

We are looking to recruit a highly enthusiastic and responsible Payments Specialist. In this role, you will help us oversee and execute the end-to-end processing of daily transactions with our linguists and clients, while adhering to the highest accounting standards and keeping our company compliant.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Communicate daily with our freelance linguists around the world to gather the financial documents required for payment processing
  • Collect and validate all monthly invoices from the freelance linguists we work with
  • Prepare and execute hundreds of payments to our freelance linguists at the beginning of each month
  • Work extensively with our internal ERP software to validate the amounts for all payments to linguists and from clients
  • Prepare, validate, and send invoices to all our clients on a daily and/or monthly basis
  • Monitor for late client payments and follow up with the relevant counterparts when needed
  • Use external accounting software, primarily for invoicing
  • Maintain daily communication with our external accounting companies in Bulgaria, Georgia, and the USA
  • Review all transactions across our bank accounts within each calendar month and match them to the relevant invoice or supporting documents, so our accounting companies can close the month
  • Process all regular daily payments related to the general activity of the company

Requirements:

  • Experience in a payments, finance, or accounting role is beneficial
  • A strong track record managing (ideally international) payments and invoicing at scale
  • Excellent communication skills and (ideally) an outgoing personality
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, with at least one very intensive week per month (usually at the end of the month)
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
  • International experience with online banking and various payment methods
  • Experience with accounting software such as Intuit QuickBooks and/or Xero is highly beneficial
  • Accounting knowledge, or a solid understanding of basic EU/US accounting laws and best practices, is highly beneficial
