Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center (VBASC) is seeking an experienced, energetic, and mission-driven Clinical Director to lead its high-performing clinical team. Our Center - jointly owned by community surgeons and Sentara - is multi-specialty, features four operating rooms and operates as an independent, patient-focused organization. As Clinical Director, you will oversee all daily clinical operations, including preoperative, postoperative, intraoperative, and sterilization departments, while supporting and mentoring a dedicated team of ~35 employees (24 FTEs). Each clinical area has an established supervising nurse who reports directly to you, allowing you to focus on big-picture initiatives, quality improvement, and strategic development.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical operations, ensuring exceptional pre-, intra-, and post-operative care
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and cultivate a positive, high-performing team culture
- Establish performance standards, mentor and coach staff, and participate in hiring and onboarding
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies
- Develop and implement clinical protocols, quality metrics, and department procedures
- Lead quality assurance and improvement initiatives - analyzing data, identifying opportunities, and implementing solutions
- Oversight of supply chain, purchasing, and inventory of equipment, medications, and surgical supplies
- Leads Medical Advisory Committee and Total Quality Management meetings
- Assist with budgeting, financial decision-making, and cost-saving strategies that maintain clinical excellence
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience (required)
- Minimum 2 years of leadership/management experience (required)
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Nursing (required)
- Current RN and BCLS licensure (required)
- CNOR, CAPA, or CPAN certification (preferred)
- Experience with AAAHC accreditation survey process (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
