Key responsibilities of the Optician include:

• Design & Fit: Measure, design, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for patients based on optical prescriptions.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, assisting patients in selecting frames and ensuring the perfect fit for their eyewear.
• Precision & Accuracy: Prepare work orders for optical labs, verify the exactness of finished lenses, and make necessary adjustments.
• Eyewear/Inventory Management: Manage eyewear orders and perform quality inspections. Oversee and manage inventory of frames and other optical products. Ensure optimal stock levels, coordinate orders with vendors, and maintain accurate record-keeping to support the practices operational needs.
• Patient Education: Educate patients on proper eyeglass care and provide follow-up services including adjustments and repairs.
• Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage vendor accounts to ensure maximum discount potential and timely delivery of orders.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with prescribing providers, assist in training new personnel, and collaborate with the employees at your location.

Qualifications for the Optician include:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in optical (private practice preferred)
• Ability to work independently
• Strong knowledge of lens fabrication and eyewear products
• Proven background in sales, with a keen eye for fashionable frames
• Excellent organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Customer-oriented with a passion for helping others
• Experience with optical practice management software, preferred
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:

• Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 530 p.m.
• Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• NO Nights! NO Weekends!
