About the job Director of IT
This practice is a leading medical practice committed to providing exceptional patient care through innovative approaches and a supportive work environment. We are seeking an experienced IT Director to oversee and enhance our IT operations in collaboration with a trusted third-party IT vendor.
The IT Director will be responsible for managing the IT infrastructure, supporting staff and clinical technology needs, and ensuring seamless coordination with our third-party IT vendor. This role is essential for maintaining our systems' reliability, security, and efficiency, with a strong focus on healthcare-specific requirements like HIPAA compliance and electronic health records (EHR) management.
Key Responsibilities of the IT Director include:
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations and provide strategic guidance for the practice's IT infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between our practice and the third-party IT vendor, ensuring high standards of service and support.
- Collaborate with the IT vendor to implement, monitor, and improve network security, EHR systems, and data management practices.
- Manage software and hardware upgrades, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure system optimization for all practice operations.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures, with a focus on HIPAA compliance and data security.
- Coordinate IT training for staff and ensure that the practice is kept up-to-date with technology best practices in healthcare.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and system upgrades to support the practice's goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Masters degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of IT management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management and collaboration with external IT service providers.
- Proficiency with healthcare software, particularly EHR systems, Microsoft 365 and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations, including HIPAA.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical staff.
