This well-established nephrology practice provides superior care for patients experiencing kidney-related health concerns. The practice is seeking a full-time, certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its team. We are seeking an NP who will be accountable for a "defined" patient population. The NP functions in the roles of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator and researcher. We are offering a collaborative, dynamic practice environment where you can learn, grow, and excel in providing integrated, multidisciplinary, patient centered care. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for clinical decision-making in collaboration with physicians and daily prioritization of activities, daily assessment, education, prescription management and ordering ancillary tests. Duties will require Practitioner to work in dialysis clinics, offices and also in hospital settings.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy
- Conducts patient education
- Collaborates with Physician for diagnosis and treatment plan
- Examines patients in clinic, hospital rounds and in dialysis center
- Consult with patients primary care physician and other specialists
Schedule:
- Monday- Friday
- No weekends! No call!
Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited program specific to area of practice
- Current Virginia RN and NP License
- Prescriptive authority, when required
- Minimum two years RN experience
Experience and Qualifications Preferred:
- Dialysis background/experience
- Hospital Rounding Experience
- Clinical Leadership Role experience
- Minimum 1 year NP experience
