General Technician

Job Requirement

Brief Description of Duties : Require experience in general technician duties

painting, carpentry, ceiling works, tiling and concrete works.

The General Technician works in the Facility under the Engineering supervisor/ Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer. They are responsible maintain customer unit, communications, lighting, and control systems in homes, businesses, and factories.

Specific Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
• Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)

Role Specifications

• Respond for maintenance assistance in order to provide courteous, timely and expert service.
• Assist in the installation, removal or relocation of electronic equipment, in accordance with
  established priorities.
• Fix all property electronic equipment (except for slot machines and computers) by repairing minor
  damage to parts and wiring and replacing failed components, in order to ensure proper operation of all equipment according to established schedules and department standards.
• Examine and perform preventative maintenance checks on various types of electronic equipment to include fire alarms, and satellite systems according to established schedules under supervision, in order to ensure that potential problems are fixed before equipment becomes dysfunctional.
