Job Title: Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of a laundry factory, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality service, and cost-effective operations. This role involves managing associates, optimising production processes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards. The Operations Manager also works closely with sales and customer service teams to meet client expectations and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Process Management
- Oversee daily laundry operations, from collection and washing to drying, ironing, and delivery.
- Implement and optimise workflows to ensure efficiency and timely service delivery.
- Monitor productivity and adjust processes to maximise output and minimise costs.
- Ensure all laundry items meet quality control standards before delivery.
2. Associate Supervision & Training
- Manage and lead laundry associates, including supervisors, washers, pressers, and delivery personnel.
- Schedule and allocate work shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide training on equipment use, quality control, and safety procedures.
- Motivate and evaluate associate performance to maintain high operational standards.
3. Equipment & Facility Management
- Ensure all laundry machines and equipment are maintained and functioning properly.
- Schedule regular maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime.
- Maintain inventory of detergents, chemicals, and other supplies, ensuring cost-effective usage.
4. Quality Control & Customer Satisfaction
- Implement strict quality control measures to meet client expectations.
- Address customer complaints and service issues promptly and professionally.
- Work with the sales and customer service teams to improve service offerings.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with industry hygiene and safety regulations.
- Maintain proper handling and storage of laundry chemicals.
- Enforce workplace safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
6. Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor operational costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
- Prepare reports on productivity, expenses, and overall operational performance.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for operational expenses.
- Attend the meeting as required
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in commercial laundry, hospitality, or manufacturing for at least 5 years. Experience in the hotel laundry is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of laundry equipment, processes, and industry best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations for commercial laundry operations.
