The MEP technician works in the Engineering department under the Engineering supervisor and is responsible for the installation of new systems and the maintenance of old systems in homes, business units and estates.
The Electrician works in the Engineering department under the Engineering supervisor/ Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer. They are responsible for install and maintain electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in homes, businesses, and factories.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Inspect and diagnose malfunctioning equipment, electrical systems, pumping systems and their components.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Inspection of pumping systems and drainage systems including water plant equipment
- Inspection and knowledge of fire pump systems and generators
- Read and follow blueprints, Plan layouts for the installation of electrical wiring, check/plan equipment to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.
- Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
- Ensures that the maintenance of all electronics-related equipment and its associated auxiliaries are carried out in accordance with the Standard Engineering practice.
- Adheres to the specified hygiene and personal appearance standards of the hotel and his area.
- Adheres to the set procedures for attendance and timekeeping.
- Assists in all IT related issues as and when required.
- Assists his fellow workers on other trades, not related to his own work, and when necessary.
- Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the engineering supervisor.
