Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Portuguese labor law, fluent English proficiency, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for employees and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, including calculating wages, deductions, and bonuses
- Ensure compliance with Portuguese labor law and other relevant regulations
- Handle payroll queries and resolve any issues or discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll processes
- Stay updated on changes to labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Provide support during audits and assist with payroll-related inquiries
- Continuously improve payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role
- Strong understanding of Portuguese labor law and regulations
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written)
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
