About the job Project Manager - Angola

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Project Manager to manage a project (or portfolio) of the company in the healthcare sector. The main responsibilities will be to manage all aspects of the projects during planning phase, engineering, construction and handover to Operations, but will also including activities during the business development, design and tender phase.

The ideal candidate should have solid background in management of large and complex projects in the healthcare industry; higly skilled in leadership, analytical view and communication with senior management, clients and other internal and external stakeholders, to achieve the goal of developing and delivering the projects on time, budget and in conformity with requirements (quality).

Location: Luanda /on site

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Be accountable for all aspects of the project, including budgeting, planning, control, reporting, HSE and quality.
  • Coordinate communication with all stakeholders to ensure conformity with requirements and expectations, avoiding lack of information that can impact the project.
  • Active support and interaction to business development, design, budgeting, procurement and PMO.
  • Monitor progress and deviations to define action plan.
  • Risk assessment to define anticipated mitigation plan and implement actions.
  • Oversee contracts deliverables and obligations and relations with customers, vendors, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Review financial information and propose adjustment to operational budgets to promote profitability and deliverables for customers satisfaction.
  • Active collaboration with senior management to formulate strategies to deliver operations of the Projects during planning and execution.
  • Monitor and review the activities of the contractors and the supervision team, to reach the highest professional standards and adopt best practice methods.
  • Coordinate and oversee project activities throughout different phases with focus on training, commissioning, and handoveFoster strong relationships with clients/customers, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, customer service, and managing expectations to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
  • Oversee procurement processes and coordinate equipments, material, and resources allocation .
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards of staff are meet throughout the projects cycles to minimize risk of workplace accidents, and meet local regulation according to international standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, local and international regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Oversee the implementation of technology solutions throughout the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University Degree in Civil Engineering or related field in reputable University. Master Degree in Construction management or Healthcare field is highly valuable.
  • Min. of 10+ years´ experience in management of large and complex projects. Experience in healthcare projects Private and Public is a plus.
  • Previous experience In Angola/Africa is highly desirable.
  • PMP certification or other recognized for the job is highly valuable.
  • Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain and IT.
  • Knowledge of industrys legal rules and guidelines, knowledge of healthcare regulations, codes, and standards is highly desirable.
  • You have a strong customer focus, influencing skills and cross cultural communication and collaboration at all levels of the matrix organization.
  • Furthermore you must have proven experience in leading improvement projects with demonstrated skills in working collaboratively to identify issues and solve problems.
  • You have ability to optimize and improve processes and systems, with apassion for continuous improvement.
  • You have demonstrated ability to extract relevant information and reachsound conclusions from a variety of data.
  • Also you are open to change, able to energize team participants and foster a culture of change in very fact paced environment.
  • Experience working with authorities and be able to build strong relationships with local jurisdictions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project plus ability to work with Autocad (REVIT and BIM is appreciated).
  • Availability to travel around the country (and other African countries)
  • Fluency in Portuguese and Advanced level of English.
